Peony season has started

It’s that time of year again when the gorgeous peonie start to flood back into the flower markets.These much sought after flowers with their big fluffy heads are a firm favourite with Brides. The season runs from May to early July.

Sarah & Damien were married in the lovely little Catholic Church in Lyndhurst where we added a pedestal and some spring Hyacinths to decorate the alter. Sarah chose blue agapanthus and blue irisclassic white flowers including freesia and roses and veronicas in a traling bouquet. The bridesmaids carried similar natural style bouquets incorporating astrantia and blue eryguim to enhance the blue theme. Their reception at the Master Builders Hotel in Bucklers Hard had simple table arrangements using floating large headed roses in bowls.

Gemma & Danny have a lovely sunny wedding day

A warm sunny saturday in February ……. yes february for Gemma & Danny who celebrated their wedding day with a Fawley Church ceremony followed by the lovely Beaulieu Hotel.

Gemma had a combination of cymbidium orchids, roses, freesia and cerise pink roses for her teardrop shaped bouquet, finished using diamante butterlies and organza ribbon.

Beautiful Highcliffe Castle Wedding

Charlotte & Pete celebrated their Spring wedding at Highcliffe Castle last weekend. Charlotte favoured a really traditional trailing bouquet using ivory Akito roses, white bouvardia , beautiful Cornish freesia and ivy trails.

Monday Morning Flower lesson

Lesley enjoyed a morning in the workshop on Monday when she came along for her private flower arranging lesson , a birthday gift from her daughter-in-law. Starting with a little theory and then moving on to creating some lovely pieces to take home. Having a one to one lesson it is really amazing what can be acheived and with very little or no experience is needed.

Our projects included a garden wooden basket and a small plant pot arrangement which Lesley tackled with trememdous enthusiasm and the end result was one of excitement for such a lovely gift to take home.

The morning was finished with a quick demo on hand tied bouquets which was a special request from Lesley. After watching me put her flowers together and having a go herself Lesley soon agreed it was not as easy as us Florists make it look !.

If you would like to buy a voucher for a relative or friend then get in touch, prices start at £60.00 and generally they will go away with two finished arrangements and lots of info on how to look after cut flowers.

Jo and her team are pleased to report a really busy day at the Hampshire Wedding Show today with over 600 people attending

We previewed some of our new collection using soft whites, ivory and a touch of colour using vintage roses, waxflowers and vintage carnations.

one of our most popular new designs on show are our hand made cones of flowers which offer versatility either being used as an alternative to a bridesmaid bouquet or table decoration in a glass vase.
